About Neil

Neil Butler is a small business owner, broadcaster, podcaster and author with a simple focus – helping people find practical ways to improve how they work and how their businesses operate.

Neil understands the reality of small business life. Time is limited, money needs to be spent wisely and any advice worth taking must be affordable, useful and easy to put into action.

That is why his work is built around quick, practical and impactful content. Neil’s approach is about clear ideas, simple activities and pragmatic steps that can make a positive difference to business owners and the organisations they run.

Neil hosts several podcasts through his own small businesses, Podversations and CLIRA. He also hosts The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show on community radio in Geelong, Australia.

He is also a published author. His first book, It IS Who You Know, was published in 2011 and shared practical ideas for building and strengthening a business network.

Neil’s second book, Change Change: Introducing The Art Of Transformagination®, is available from June 2026. It explores how organisations of all shapes and sizes can manage change, and why imagination may be one of the most important ingredients in building a successful business.

Away from work, Neil is Pop to Maverick and Ned, and Dad to Lucy and Sam. He has been a member of the Fitzroy, then Brisbane Lions, Football Club since 1983. Musically, he reckons you would be hard-pressed to beat a top five of The Beatles, Queen, Cold Chisel, Dire Straits and Russell Morris.

Depending on the time of day, you will usually find him enjoying either a double espresso or a rather excellent Australian Shiraz.
